Revenue protection through flex fees

Over the past few weeks we have been busy rolling out several key updates designed to improve the overall user experience. A major enhancement is the option to configure cancellation fees dynamically, based on the planned booking duration — increasing both availability and paid utilization while compensating for cancellations. Alongside this, we have rethought damage settlement with our new carvaloo integration, added a dedicated Transporter category, and strengthened account security. Here is everything new.

Dynamic cancellation fees

✨ New  ·  🏷️ Pricing

Protect revenue and increase utilization

You can now configure cancellation fees based on the planned rental duration — either fixed or percentage-based. By encouraging users to plan bookings wisely, you can increase vehicle availability and paid utilization, and compensate for cancellations.

How it works

You can "freeze" the option to shorten a booking once the cancellation fee period begins, to ensure fee integrity. Drivers can still extend their bookings, but they can no longer shorten them to avoid fees.

The benefit

Higher availability, higher paid utilization, and protection against last-minute revenue loss. Note: if you start using dynamic cancellation fees, verify whether a user notification or an update to external pricing docs is required.

carvaloo integration — damage detection

✨ New  ·  🚗 Fleet  ·  🔌 API

Rethinking the entire claims settlement process

With the introduction of carvaloo, we have rethought the entire claims settlement process to drastically reduce your operational workload — by more than 90% in pilot projects — and to increase transparency.

"Automating damage detection through carvaloo was a game-changer for our back office. We now work in a focused manner and manage our claims more successfully."

— Gebhard Platter, Project Manager at AlpsGo

The benefit

Less time spent manually reviewing minor or duplicate cases, more focused claims management, and significantly reduced operational effort.

Security, payment & discovery

Re-authentication for account protection

⚡ Improved  ·  🔒 Security

To prevent unauthorized account takeovers, users must now re-authenticate with their password before changing their email address. SSO users are restricted from modifying emails in-app.

Support role — set permissions

⚡ Improved  ·  🔒 Security

At your request, MOQO can now disable the permission of support staff to unlock vehicles for drivers in your sharing offers — improving fraud prevention.

Failed payment fees handling

✨ New  ·  💳 Payment

Provider admins now have the power to manage failed payment fees directly, saving time and offering more configuration flexibility.

New vehicle category — Transporter

✨ New  ·  🚗 Fleet

With the growing number of vans on our platform, we have added a dedicated Transporter category. Users can now find cargo vans via a new map icon and an additional search filter.

Driver's licence validation

⚡ Improved  ·  🪪 Driver

Information regarding on-site validation points can now be hidden to guide customers toward faster digital validation services — showing only the options supported by their specific provider.

Optimized rebalancing — vehicle classes

⚡ Improved  ·  📅 Booking

The logic for "time slot between bookings" is now visible in the scheduler and is fully factored into rebalancing calculations to optimize utilization.

Operational tools & portal

⚡ Improved  ·  ⚙️ Operations

Several smaller improvements make day-to-day operations faster:

  • Third-party reporting: support agents can now search for a vehicle by license plate and message the provider board directly for real-time emergencies (e.g. "a vehicle blocking a fire lane").
  • Hardware onboarding: operations teams can now filter for Onboard Units needing links to vehicles, speeding up the onboarding process.
  • Portal navigation: a new direct link lets portal users navigate straight to specific damage details.
